Ontario's Ministry of Education promotes the idea of Gay-Straight Alliances (GSA) in Canadian schools. The Ministry encourages GSAs as a tool to fight homophobia. It also recognizes the impact that a GSA can have in building bridges between all students. And yet, despite this, one Catholic School Board just isn't buying it. Welcome to Halton Region!

Pope urges church to reflect on sex abuse or The 70's; Everyone's diddling so Priests should too!

Pope Benedict XVI told Vatican officials Monday that they must reflect on the church's culpability in its child sex-abuse scandal, but he also blamed a secular society in which he said the mistreatment of children was frighteningly common. (notice that whenever the church makes any sort of apology there is always a very big BUT blaming the rest of society for their criminal behaviour?)

In his traditional, end-of-the-year speech to Vatican cardinals and bishops, Benedict said revelations of abuse in 2010 reached “an unimaginable dimension” that required the church to accept the “humiliation” as a call for renewal.

“In the 1970s, pedophilia was theorized as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,” the pope said.  (In other words. It was okay to rape and molest children back in the good old days)

Did Satan, er, Harper offend Catholics by pocketing Jesus?

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Stephen Harper is denying reports he received a sacramental communion wafer recently at Roméo LeBlanc's Roman Catholic funeral mass and pocketed it instead of consuming it.

The religious faux pas was caught on video during the former governor general's funeral in New Brunswick, where Harper received the wafer representing the body of Christ but instead of eating it appears to put in his program or pocket. You can see the video and get the Full Story at thestar.com.

Personally, I've eaten Jesus in a past life and I think he's kinda bland, but still, being the PM you'd think he would have a little more knowledge about the Catholic faith considering how much money Canadian taxpayers unfairly have to give them to run their schools. 
Everyone knows that just as no one puts baby in a corner, you don't put Jesus in a pocket or program you let him melt in your mouth ever so slowly and wash him down with some vino!  His 'people' are saying he ate the host, but if you look at the video (click the title link to go to the Star site to view) you can practically see him pocket it.  I think he did NOT eat it.  Here is a pic of him at last year's Calgary Stampede looking all cowboy (or was that the Pride parade?).

Pope Benedict says "Condoms can increase the problem of Aids"

Fatal Stamede At Pope Speech

Two people were killed after deadly stampede broke out at a stadium a few hours before Pope Benedict XVI addressed young people in the Angolan capital of Luanda on Saturday. Tens of thousands of Angola's Catholics lined the streets of the capital Saturday for a blessing from the Pope, 81, who urged the country's faithful to reach out and convert people who believe in witchcraft. What can I say, I guess the catholics still have no respect for other religions, and also don't seem to know anything about crowd control, even though by now with the Pope's crowd drawing ability, one would think that they would have it down to a fine science.  Another typical catholic screw up!

Two-Faced Hypocrites 'Forgive' Lennon (Pardon me while I puke)

The Vatican's newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a "boast" by a young man grappling with sudden fame. Click Here For Story
This ridiculous forgiveness, from one of the most prejudiced, hate-riddled, war mongering institutions this planet has ever seen is one of the most, infuriating things I have read in quite some time. 

John Lennon did more to promote peace and humanity in his short life than all of the popes put together throughout the entire history of the catholic church. 

Why don't these catholic morons try apologizing themselves for all the thousands (millions?) of children that their priests molested? And since were on the topic, lets have another for all the innocent victims of wars fought in gods name? Maybe another for the victims of your twisted cruelty who were burned and boiled alive? Don't forget those you tortured and murdered in the name of your god  for crimes like witchcraft and heresy, I could go on and on, but I like to think that I am a reasonable guy so I'll wait for the church to apologize and then judge who really needs to be forgiven. 

Who am I to judge the church? Who the hell do these condescending idiots think they are to judge anyone?

Anglican church should apologize to Darwin.

It seems the Church of England owes Charles Darwin an apology.

At least that's the opinion of Rev. Malcolm Brown, head of the church's public affairs department. In a statement Monday, Brown faulted the church for initially misunderstanding Darwin's theory of evolution.

He says that initial failing has caused some people to continue to misunderstand Darwin to this day. Full Story

Why is it that the Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church, as well as many others, to be sure, have such a difficult time actually apologizing for their mistakes and criminal activity? They all preach to us that we should forgive and Jesus forgives everyone and that sort of nonsense.... one more example of Christian hypocrosy in my opinion.
