Ticketgouger Speaks Out

I really hope the government continues to look into this issue. It seems that no one was very concerned until Bruce Springsteen made a big deal about it recently.
One of my biggest peeves with these guys is how they justify charging us a 2.00 fee for printing our own ticket?  Are we not saving them the printing and mailing costs? If anything we should get a discount for printing the ticket ourselves.
Then of course there is the 'building/venue' fee and all sorts of other bullshit fees that turn a 24 dollar ticket into a 50 dollar purchase.  It seems as though they have taken a page from the airline gouging manual. I'm sick of it and I hope they are forced to change their ways, because they certainly won't do it on their own.

From 680news.com:

Ticketmaster is taking the offensive over allegations it's gouging customers. The company stands accused of redirecting on-line ticket buyers to a subsidiary that sells the same tickets at much higher prices.

But Ticketmaster vice-president Joe Freeman has claimed consumers are being treated fairly.

"Our clients, meaning venues, promoters and teams give us tickets, and trust us with tickets, to sell to the public," he explained. "And that is exactly what we do with those tickets. We do not provide or divert tickets to Ticketsnow or anyone who sells on Ticketsnow."

Alberta is now investigating whether it needs to change its scalping laws in response to the Ticketmaster case. The Federal Competition Bureau has also launched a probe.

The Scouts

I used to work for the same company as Rob (right), and he was a fun guy to work with...mind you considering his competition in that office...well.... anyway...

He and his friend Naydne are The Scouts. They have three of their original songs at their website, including the much anticipated Katie.

Personally I don't think they will be on the Billboard Top 100 anytime soon, but, you never know, so I would just like to state publicly that The Scouts are sooooo cool, (I haven't actually met Naydne, but she must be cool to have the name Naydne spelled so cooly) and sooooo cute too!

In my opinion, they are like the Hall & Oates of the Toronto folksy independent music scene. I have always been a big fan of this very talented musical duo! What amazing and wonderful people.

The following is from their website:
"Sometimes when couples break up, they hate each other's guts and never see each other again. Other times, they stay friends and write songs together."

(This endorsement of the scouts is in no way shape or form linked to my new life goal of being the No. 2 man in a celebrity entourage. So don't fu#*ing call me Kato!).
