Election Fraud Rally's Across Canada this Saturday!

All across Canada, concerned Canadians will take to the streets this Saturday, March 31st, as part of a second wave of protests in response to the widening electoral fraud scandal.

We can see more and more evidence of systematic election fraud. A recent CBC investigation found a national pattern of voters receiving misleading robocalls after they were identified as being non-Conservative, a result that suggests “that the misleading calls relied on data gathered by, and carefully guarded by, the Conservative Party.” [1]

Just this week our friends at the Council of Canadians have launched legal challenges to election results in seven key ridings where they have found significant evidence that fraud affected the result of the election. [2] With your help, we’ve sent hundreds of reports of electoral fraud to the Council of Canadians and Elections Canada to aid their investigations.

Now, as a recent poll shows that your call for a public inquiry is supported by an overwhelming majority of Canadians, it’s time to get back out into the streets and refocus attention on this issue. [3] This weekend’s rallies will demand a rapid investigation, a full public inquiry, and serious consequences for election fraud including new elections in affected ridings.

David Suzuki explains why he thinks a carbon tax is the way to go

carbon tax is just one way of addressing concerns about climate change. The subject has come up in the 2008 federal election campaign, through the Liberal proposal for a carbon tax, which the party says will be "revenue neutral." Environmental scientist David Suzuki supports a carbon tax. CBCNews.ca asked him what he sees in it.

Conservative staffers shameful resignation

A staff member resigned and apologized Tuesday for writing a speech read by Stephen Harper in 2003 as leader of the Opposition that plagiarized from an address days earlier by then Australian prime minister John Howard."Pressed for time, I was overzealous in copying segments of another world leader’s speech," Owen Lippert says in a news release sent out by the Conservative camp on Tuesday afternoon.

"Neither my superiors in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition nor the leader of the Opposition was aware that I had done so."

Smiling Jack Wants American Style Meeting

I've been sick for a couple of days, but I noticed this tidbit, courtesy of Jack Layton of the NDP. Jack wants a meeting of all party leaders to discuss the current financial crisis, now affecting markets, and banks worldwide.

Seems to me that Jack just want to be like an American candidate and be invited to the big table. I wonder if Jack would want to be American if he was Prime Minister... I'll have to think about that while I DON'T SELL, DON'T SELL! my stocks.

Calgary Conservative Disses Immigrants

Another Conservative is in hot water over controversial comments - this time about immigrants.

Both the Liberals and NDP are demanding that Lee Richardson resign as Calgary Centre candidate for suggesting that immigrants are prone to commit crimes. Richardson told a weekly newsmagazine: "Look at who's committing these crimes ... They're not the kid that grew up next door."

He also said immigrants and refugees don't have the same respect for authority or property.
