ETFO endorses One School System model.
Here's the link to the CTV piece from last night. ETFO is now onside (along with OSSTF) for One School System. Ignore Paul Bliss' comments about school funding, he is incorrect and promoting a falsehood. Everyone pays for our public and Catholic school systems. The 'support' option on your MPAC form does NOT direct funding.

Elizabeth May barred from televised debates, AGAIN!
Elizabeth May has been denied entry into the televised leaders’ debates.
Instead of speaking up to defend true democracy, other party leaders seem relieved—perhaps due to the glowing reviews Elizabeth received after her first appearance in the 2008 debates.
What kind of democracy excludes a party with the support of one million of its citizens?
What kind of democracy allows a handful of TV executives to decide that a party that only runs candidates in one province has more right to be in a national leaders’ debate than a party with candidates in every riding?
In the last election, your voices won Elizabeth her rightful place in the debates. We can’t believe that we have to ask you to rally on her behalf yet again. But we do.
Here’s what you can do:
With your help, Elizabeth will show Canadians why Greens belong in the House of Commons. And why there’s no debate that she belongs in the debates.
Thank you for taking part in our fight for true democracy in Canada.

Dead tired in Vienna
Thursday, October 21, 2010
Today we walked around Vienna
, had a beer at a cafe and took lots of pictures. By mid-afternoon we were both exhausted. Our travelling had caught up with us. We headed back to the hotel, got some beer and stayed in and watched BBC Entertainment and rested. And as the CBC news loves to say; "There was a Canadian Connection". I watched my first ever episode of 'Casualty' and was tickled to hear a reference to the iconic Canadian CTV show "The Littlest Hobo"
.

Olympic Whores Can't Stop
I read an interesting post today in Randy Starkman's Olympic blog, which highlights just one more reason why I will never support the scam that is the Olympic games. As you are probably aware the Olympics makes huge money in sponsorship deals, deals which in my opinion are, pardon my french; bullshit.
For example: McDonalds is the "Official Restaurant"! Give me a break. Yeah, I know you love the sappy, feel good commercials, but do you really think these elite "amateur" (which brings me to another item in the Olympic scam, but that's for another day) athletes eat at McDonalds? If you do, I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.
So the point Randy is trying to make is this: Why should CTV "storytellers" be selected to carry the torch before, say children or real amateur athletes. I hope the people at CTV will rethink this disgusting and shameful scam.
Read Randy Starkmans post here.

In The Nobody Cares Anymore Dept.
After so many years, so many delays and back room deals, I officially declare it: Mulroney wins! Nobody give a shit anymore. Most people have accepted that you are a crook and have gotten away with whatever secret deals you made. I have come to this conclusion now that there has been a new addition of a widow, yes, I said widow to the story. I also wonder why CTV news hasn't even made a mention of this story? Hmmmmm.
Mulroney-Schreiber affair
Envelopes stuffed with cash. A secret Swiss bank account. A web of alleged deals. And a former prime minister caught in the tangle of it all.
The relationship between Brian Mulroney and German-Canadian businessman Karlheinz Schreiber dates back long before Schreiber came into the spotlight for his shady deals, here and in Germany.
But it wouldn't be until after Mulroney's nearly nine years as prime minister that allegations emerged that would eventually trigger a public inquiry.
At the heart of the issue: whether the two made a lobbying deal while Mulroney was still in office. Schreiber says they negotiated the deal two days before Mulroney left office on June 25, 1993, during a visit at the prime minister's Harrington Lake retreat in Quebec. It's a claim Mulroney has always denied.

My Letter To CTV News
I'm attaching a link to a story from newsdurhamregion.com http://www.newsdurhamregion.com/news/article/112449 I'm surprised that I haven't seen any coverage of this on CTV, perhaps I missed it? Or perhaps CTV isn't as supportive of the gay community as it would like the public to think it is? I seem to remember the onslaught of 'feel good' promos in the weeks leading up to Toronto Pride. One could come to the conclusion that CTV is only interested in self promotion and cares little about gay rights, and very serious hate crimes like this where innocent women are beaten publicly in front of their children. Its my sincere hope that I am wrong about the intentions of CTV news, although somehow I feel that would be hoping for too much.

Parents abduct daughter during 'supervised' visitation
This story began a couple of weeks ago when the parents of a five year old sick child abducted her during a routine 'supervised' visitation. Click the title link for the details and the full story from CTV.
I'd like to know, how it is that a child is abducted, from a child protection agency, during a supervied visit? I have written to them and will let you know what they have to say, should I hear back from them.
I'd also like to know why the CTV story doesn't even address this very obvious question?

CTV Toronto Hottie Talks To The Richmond Hill Post

by Alexandra Innes, Post City Magazines
"NOTHING GREAT WAS ever achieved without enthusiasm," declared the 19th-century American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson. Small wonder then that Richmond Hill-raised Austin Delaney has carved out a successful and award-winning broadcasting career for himself. Enthusiasm could be his middle name.
The seasoned general assignment reporter for CTV News Toronto arrived in Canada from Britain with his family at age nine. Four years of English schooling left its mark. Delaney’s enthusiasm is part of an Englishschoolboy charm that has never left him.

Gee, why didn't I think of that?
I heard on a local radio station today that CTV was airing the Juno Awards after the American show The Amazing Race. I thought it seemed more than a bit odd that the major Canadian contemporary awards show would not be airing until 10:00 pm in Toronto!
Aparently they have changed their minds over at CTV. Good. Click the link for the full story from CP.
Industry criticism prompts CTV to air Juno broadcast earlier in Eastern Cda
