This year Sistering's annual fund raiser Funny Girls and Dynamic Divas is on Wednesday, May 26th at the Jane Mallet Theatre on Front Street. With a combination of female comedians and musicians it's a great way to spend an evening and to help raise money for Sistering, which offers valuable services to women in our community.
For those of you who have enjoyed the show before, you'll be pleased to know that Elvira Kurt is once again the MC. Tickets are $75 each and for that price you get an evening of very good entertainment along with all the appetizers you can eat.
Sistering helps more than 2,000 women each year through its drop-in centre, health care, counseling and recreational programs. They offer hot meals, job training and assistance finding and keeping housing. Sistering believes in in the dignity, uniqueness and equality of each woman, and through their programs they offer practical and emotional support, which helps women build confidence and regain their independence.
Women from all walks of life use Sistering's service. This is the annual, major fundraiser that helps provide the support we need to continue the many valuable programs Sistering offers.
