Spring at the Daye...
I've been working on some new images, which I have been posting on here, as well as a new banner for the spring/summer season, which is on the site now. And can also be seen here right now... drum roll please...

I'm attempting to keep the feel of the past several banners, with a bit of imagery, which, I hop will reflect the general principals of this blog which are;
- Our environment, climate change and global warming
- Human rights
- Photography and the arts
I hope you like it, and as always, your comments on this or any post are always welcome. You can also sign up to receive this blog by email or by RSS. Look for the links in the right column of the page.
I'd also like to remind you that our Earth Hour poll is still continuing for about another week, so I hope you will participate in the poll and in Earth Hour.
In the coming days and weeks I am going to continue to work on my website and will be adding some of my favorite photos and sprucing it up, now that I've finally got it online. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will return soon.
Best regards, Mark Daye

The Gherkin
Click on image to view full size. Click the title for the Wikipedia page on this building.
30 St Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin and formerly the Swiss Re Building, is askyscraper in London's main financial district, the City of London, completed in December 2003 and opened on 28 April 2004. It is 180 metres (591 ft) tall, with 40 floors. Its construction symbolised the start of a new high-rise construction boom in London. The building's name is its address, St Mary Axe being the street it is on.
The building was designed by Lord Foster, his then partner Ken Shuttleworth[1], and Arupengineers, and was constructed by Skanska of Sweden in 2001–2003.
