Topic: Education in the context of our socio-economic paradigm (presented by Lawrence Di Marco)

Synopsis: The organic evolution of our current model of education, punctuated by streaming, grading, and standardized testing, is a response to societally rewarded mechanisms. It has led to marginalized and medicated youth. Using examples, we will explore these concepts and analyze ideas for a relevant education. Also introduced will be the Institute for a Resource Based Economy, a not-for-profit in Toronto centred on alternative/sustainable education models.

A talk followed by a discussion period. Bring your ideas and your energy.
