Via Could Be Crippled By Strike, Some Trains Already Cancelled

Via Rail has already cancelled some routes ahead of a possible strike by workers on Friday.

The rail line is negotiating with Teamsters Canada Rail Conference which represents about 340 locomotive engineers. The union has given notice it intends to go on strike on Friday at noon EDT.

But Via has already cancelled some long-distance trains to ensure passengers are not be stranded en-route if the union goes on strike. Source: City News
